In the Magney House at Bingie Point Glenn Murcutt works with passive heating and cooling. He pays attention to the orientation of the building on the site, to cooling winds and weather patterns.
Im Magney House, Bingie Point (1984) beschäftigt sich Glenn Murcutt mit passiver Heizung und Kühlung. Er achtet auf die Ausrichtung des Gebäudes auf dem Grundstück, auf kühlende Winde und Wetterverhältnisse.
Simpson-Lee House (1983)
In the Simpson-Lee House (1983) he has to react to the surrounding woods, which tend to burn from time to time. The water balance therefore plays an important role. Like in the Magney House, the principle of the veranda, which is bringing nature into the house, is obvious.

The renovation of the old shed tried to keep its original appearance ( cheap look) by using expensive details. To avoid animals and wind coming through the gaps between the wooden planks, a metal sheet was added. To show the existing structure of the building, the new envelope is placed inside.
Bei der Renovierung des alten Schuppens wurde versucht, sein ursprüngliches Aussehen (billig aussehen) durch die Verwendung teurer Details zu erhalten. Um zu verhindern, dass Tiere und Wind durch die Lücken zwischen den Holzplanken eindringen, wurde eine Metallplatte angebracht. Um die bestehende Struktur des Gebäudes zu zeigen, wurde die neue Hülle innen angebracht.
